BBC Berkshire have a story up about the Unsigned Showcase gig at the Fez Club last Wednesday. They have a whole bunch of pictures including one of Pete being dwarfed by an acoustic guitar and you might well spy a familiar face from Sonic Undermind gigs.
We've just confirmed another Reading gig at The Venue which is upstairs @ the Litten Tree in Reading on May 13th. See more in gigs. Also, there are only 6 seats left on the Rock Bus to the Catapult Club so if you want one e-mail me or sign up on the message board.
Well, Nik and I got back from Amsterdam safe and sound and we seem to be immediately launched into one of the band's most busy periods so far. Tonight Pete is going to be playing some of his solo songs at the Fez Club in Reading. Rob and I will be accompanying him on a couple including at least one Sonic Undermind number. Then in a mere 9 days time we have the Catapult Club gig! We are still planning to sort out a minibus for people to come down so please let me know if you want a place on that or post it on our message board. I can also reveal that we are going to be playing at a new Reading venue on May 13th! More details closer to the time on that one.
In the meantime I have also put the Catapult Club flyer online. click here to download it.
I know, I only just set us up a message board but it was a bit primitive. The lovely people at Gighit offered us a free board and it's really good so we've grabbed one! Will from Gighit assures me we'll be able to make it black eventually. Anyway, think of it as a little Easter treat from me. Right, I suppose I should pack some stuff for Amsterdam. YEAH!!! Oh yeah, link to the new message board. Plus it's in the menu. You will still be able to get to the old board from the link below on the news page for a bit but please register for the new one and post any new threads there.
We are playing at the excellent Catapult Club on May 2nd and it's one gig of ours you really shouldn't miss.
The Catapult Club is one of the most exciting live music experiences around today. The following comes from the information we got from the promoters.
"Bands will play 2 short sets at intervals throughout the evening.
The show will bounce between DJs, presenters, main-stage bands.
regular house acoustic acts and special guests on the acoustic stage.
The whole shebang will be filmed and recorded live and be
shown on big screens as we go. There will be table service provided."
Nikhil, Sam and I have all been for a night out there and it's really a great night out, even without the added bonus of us actually playing there! I will upload the flyer to the website shortly so you can download it yourselves. In the meantime we are thinking about organising some transport for fans from Reading so go to the message board or e-mail us and let us know if you are interested.
I thought it was about time we had a messageboard on this site and saw a good free one on the Outofinto site so I set us one up. I hope you like it! Click here to get to it or use the link on the menu above. See you in Maidenhead tonight!
The Rising Sun is such a rock pub, I love it. It was great to see some of you moshing away last night. Now we get to do it all again in Maidenhead on Friday! Also, we've started working up a couple of new songs which we hope to play to you all soon. It's sounding really good so far.
Live pictures of us at the King's Head are now up in the gallery.
Here's the gig news I promised. We're going to be playing at the Rising Sun pub, the most rock pub in Reading, on the 9th April. Don't know who's supporting us yet but we're headlining. It should be a good laugh, free to get in as well! Then we're playing on the Friday in Maidenhead. Rock and/or Roll. After that our next gig will be May 2nd when we are playing at the awesome Catapult Club in New Cross. Also playing that night are Spyna Workshop. More details on that one as we get them. It's all going to be on the gigs page as normal.
My new amp arrived over the weekend. It's sweet. It's given me a huge boost for playing and writing tunes because of the amazing sounds you can get out of it. It's the same as Nik's but mine is as yet unnamed.
