Total Rock!

posted by Mike on 22nd July 2003

Sonic Undermind are getting some airplay on Total Rock. Badger played Rock Hat on his show last Saturday and he's going to play it again and ask listeners for their comments! His show is on between 9pm-midnight on Saturday and you can listen on Digital TV as well as on the internet via the digital radio stream.

Review central

posted by Mike on 15th July 2003

Josaka have got a review of an advance preview CD of ours, it features three of the new songs from "They Created a Monster" as well as Rock Cliche and Carpet Burns. You can read it here. It's great for me because now I got to find out what our lyrics are about. Alex, the reviewer, was also there to witness the Catapult Club gig and you can find his review of that night in this month's copy of Unsigned Showcase, available from gigs and music shops in Reading and further afield.

Our first rock epic is here!

posted by Mike on 9th July 2003

Painless is ready for you to download! When we were writing it we set out to create a rock anthem but things changed as we started to work on ideas and in the end it came out as more of a moody rock epic, well epic for us anyway. It's six and a half minutes, easily the longest song we've ever done. Next song is part written already at the moment, watch this space!

The EP is going to be called They've Created a Monster. EP production will start as soon as we can get the covers printed. We're also going to be getting some Sonic Undermind t-shirts worked up. If you are interested in any of this, come and see us at one of the gigs in August or e-mail me.

Great work by Rob on the production, if you are in a band and like what he's done he's recently started recording other bands as well. Get in touch with him if you are interested. Contact details are in the contact area.

Pretty Painless

posted by Mike on 7th July 2003

We finished off the recording of new song Painless at the weekend, it was recorded and produced by Rob at his home studio again. It's got to be all mixed and mastered but it's all sounding excellent. We'll put it on the website as soon as we have a final version.

The provisional track listing for the new EP is Helix, Painless, Rock Hat and Magic Helmet. We're working on artwork at the moment and we hope to have some CDs available by the time our next gigs come round in August.

On the BBC, yeah yeah yeah

posted by Mike on 3rd July 2003

BBC Berkshire has a review of Tuesday night's gig at the Litten Tree. Apparently we've "created a monster". Excellent. Cheers to everyone who came down and stayed 'till half midnight on a Tuesday night to watch us play!

Next gig, 7th August in London. We're halfway through recording the new song Painless which some of you will have heard on Tuesday. We'll get that on the website when it's finished. I think we'll probably hold off the EP release until we've finished Painless so we can get that on it as well. Thanks to Torre Cider Farm, Washford, Somerset for the Scrumpy.
